Introducing Hanbuilding classes at The Pottery Cafe, our new instructor will be teaching a beginners and intermediate classes.
Focus will be in slab building, pinch pots, coiling, carving, painting and glazing in addition to mini slide lectures
that will explain how clay works as a material.
The classes will be starting April 22 for intermediate
and April 23 for beginners.
Tuition is $260 and includes all the clay for your project and a set of tools for you to keep.
Intermediate Level
The intermediate level classes are aimed to students with previous clay experience.
We will look more intensely at both contemporary and historical examples of ceramic art.
Also the intermediate students will create a final project and a (voluntary) group critique upon completion.

Beginner Level
The beginner classes will focus on fundamental techniques like building methods, timing, glazing and also a nurturing general awareness of the medium that is clay.
The beginning of each class will feature a mini slide lecture and a handbuilding demo.
